A transfer was rejected

Why transfers get rejected (usually quota), and how to fix it.

The most common reason a transfer fails when the recipient tries to accept: their account doesn't have enough room. Less common: the transfer was already cancelled, or the sender deleted the video.

If you're the recipient

  • Check Billing → storage usage. The transfer needs free space equal to the original video size.
  • Free space (delete a few videos) or buy a 10 GB add-on, then accept again.
  • Ask the sender to resend if the transfer expired or was cancelled.

If you're the sender

  • The pending transfer shows on your Sent transfers page. You can cancel and resend.
  • If they keep hitting quota issues, share with them instead — sharing doesn't move storage. See Share vs transfer.

Can a transfer be 'rejected' for any other reason?

The recipient can decline a transfer voluntarily — that's a rejection too, just on purpose. They get the option in the same accept/decline view. Their decline doesn't tell you why; ask them directly.
