What is equiReelz?

A video platform built for show jumping. Store your competition videos in full quality, tag them by horse and rider, share them with the people who actually need to see them, and find any video later in seconds.

Is this for me?

If you film, receive, or care about horse competition videos — rider, trainer, owner, groom, parent — yes. It works for individuals, but it really shines when the same videos need to reach multiple people: barns, teams, and anyone juggling several horses.

Why can't I just use WhatsApp?

WhatsApp compresses your 4K round to 480p — you can barely see the fence, let alone the rider's position. There's no way to search, no way to organize, and every video has to be forwarded by hand to every recipient. equiReelz keeps the original quality, knows what a horse and a rider are, and sends the video to the right people automatically.

What's the iOS app for, and how is it different from the website?

The iOS app works directly with the videos still on your phone — find them, tag them, search them, watch them, all without uploading or signing up. The website (and the app once you sign in) handles everything cloud: upload, share with trainers and owners, auto-share rules, team libraries, watching from any device. Same account, seamless switch. Can I use the iOS app and the website with the same account?

Yes. Sign in on both and your library stays in sync. Tags you add on your phone before upload transfer automatically once the video reaches the cloud — no re-tagging.

Will my phone's video format work?

Yes — MP4, MOV, and pretty much anything else your phone or camera produces. If ffmpeg can read it, so can we. 4K, 1080p, 720p, 60fps — all fine.

How do I get videos in?

On iOS, the app spots horse videos in your camera roll automatically and prompts you to upload — uploads keep running in the background even if you close the app. On the web, go to the Upload page and pick your files.

Is there a length limit?

No hard limit, but equiReelz is tuned for the typical 2-minute competition round. Longer videos just use more of your storage.

Can I upload from a GoPro or DSLR, not just my phone?

Yes. Use the web upload page on your computer for anything that isn't a phone — action cams, DSLRs, drones, whatever you film with.

Can I cut out the warm-up before uploading?

Yes — the iOS app has a trim step in the upload flow. Cut the lead-in and the tail, save bandwidth and storage in one go.

Can I get my videos back out?

Yes. Download any of your videos at any time, in whichever resolution you want (4K, 1080p, 720p — whatever's available for that video).

Will you ruin my 4K quality like WhatsApp does?

No. Your original upload is kept untouched at full quality, always. We create lower-resolution copies (1080p, 720p) on top so playback works on slow connections — but the original is right there, and you can download it any time.

How does sharing work?

Three ways. (1) Directly with another equiReelz user — permanent. (2) Via a time-limited share link or QR code — the recipient doesn't need an account. (3) Automatically via sharing rules — videos of horse X always go to trainer Y and owner Z, no clicks needed.

What are auto-share rules?

Rules that share new videos with the right people based on the horse or rider tagged. "Every video of Donatello goes to Sarah and Jan." Set it once. Every future upload is shared instantly — no forwarding, no forgotten recipients.

Can I share with someone who isn't on equiReelz?

Yes. Generate a share link (or a QR code) — anyone with the link can watch in full quality, no account needed. Pick an expiry of 1 hour, 1 day, or 1 week.

When would I use a QR code?

At the ring. Buyer wants to see your horse's top rounds? Generate a QR code, hold up your phone, they scan it, they watch — full quality, right there. No fumbling with WhatsApp contacts or email addresses.

Can I share with my whole barn or team?

Yes. Create a team for your barn, invite members, and either share videos with the team manually or set auto-share rules at the team level. New videos show up for everyone automatically.

Are my videos public by default?

No. Everything is private by default. Only you can see a video unless you actively share it or mark it public yourself.

How do I sign up?

Click "Sign up" on the website and register with your email. No credit card.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The free plan includes 10GB of storage and all core features — full HD/4K support, sharing, frame-by-frame playback, search. You also get one team where you can invite up to 2 other people. No credit card required.

How does billing work?

Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly. Yearly plans get 2 months free. Subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel — no surprises, you'll get a reminder before each renewal.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel from your Account page in two clicks. You keep your paid features until the end of the current billing period — no clawbacks, no "are you sure" guilt trips.

What payment methods do you accept?

All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) via Stripe. EU customers are charged VAT for their country, automatically.

What happens if I run out of storage?

Three options: upgrade your plan, delete videos you don't need, or buy extra storage on top of your current plan. We'll warn you before you hit the wall, not after.

What browsers work?

All modern browsers — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. There's also a native iOS app.

Is there an Android app?

Not yet. The mobile app is iOS only for now. On Android, equiReelz works fully via your mobile browser.

How secure are my videos?

Stored on secure cloud infrastructure, transferred over HTTPS, account protected by industry-standard authentication. You decide who can see each video — nobody else gets in.

Where are my videos actually stored?

On secure cloud storage in the EU (Backblaze B2 with multi-region redundancy).
