An upload is stuck

What "stuck" usually means, and the steps that almost always unstick it.

"Stuck" almost always means one of three things. Walk through them in order — most uploads recover at step 1 or 2.

1. Network

Open another tab or app — does the internet work? Slow connections show as "stuck" because chunks take a long time. Switch to faster Wi-Fi if you can; if you can't, leave it running and check back later. Uploads survive temporary drops.

2. Browser tab in background (web only)

Browsers throttle background tabs aggressively. If you've switched away from the upload tab, return to it — the upload should resume actively. For long uploads, prefer the iOS app, which keeps going in the background.

3. Storage quota

If you're already at your storage limit, new uploads can register but fail to complete. Check the Billing page — if you're at 100 %, free space (delete videos) or upgrade. See I'm out of storage.

Last resort

Cancel the stuck upload (X button on the row), refresh the page, and re-pick the same file. equiReelz tries to resume from where the previous attempt left off — see Resume a failed upload.

If the same file fails repeatedly

Specific files sometimes have corrupt metadata that breaks our transcoder. Try opening the file in your phone's gallery — does it play? If not, the file itself is the problem. If it plays fine but still fails to upload, contact us with the file size and a screenshot of the error.
