A video belongs to either a person or a team — not both. Team-owned videos count against the team's storage and survive when individual members come and go.
Three ways a video lands in a team library
- Upload directly to the team — pick the team as the owner during upload. The video is theirs from the start.
- Transfer a personal video to the team — moves ownership and storage. See Transfer ownership.
- Auto-transfer rule — set a rule like "every video of Donatello → Family Roxy team", and new uploads land in the team automatically.
What happens when a member leaves
Team-owned videos stay with the team — they were never the leaving member's property. If that member had personally-owned videos shared with the team, those shares are revoked when they leave; the videos go with them. This is why transfer to team is usually the right move for shared barn footage, not share with team.
Storage is shared
Team videos count against the team's quota, which is set by the owner's plan. If the team is full, members can't add more videos — even if their personal quota has room. Free up space, upgrade the owner's plan, or buy storage add-ons.
