The player is built for analysis, not just playback. Worth learning the keyboard shortcuts — they outpace the mouse for everything except scrubbing.
Keyboard shortcuts
- Space — play / pause
- ← / → — skip backwards / forwards 5 seconds
- , / . — step one frame back / forward (paused only)
- ↑ / ↓ — speed up / slow down playback
- F — toggle fullscreen
- M — mute / unmute
- 0+1+…+9 — jump to 0 %, 10 % … 90 % of the video
Resolution
The quality menu lets you switch between 4K (when the original is 4K), 1080p, and 720p. equiReelz keeps the original at full quality plus auto-generated lower-res copies for slower connections. The original is always available for download.
Two-finger gestures on Mac trackpads
Two-finger left/right swipe is mapped to frame-by-frame scrubbing — useful when reviewing a takeoff frame by frame without leaving the trackpad.
Zoom in on a detail (touch)
On a phone or tablet, pinch to zoom up to 4x and drag to pan — handy for a distant fence or a leg position. Double-tap toggles between fit and 2x. Rotating the phone to landscape fills the screen automatically; rotate back to return.
