The location autocomplete shows three kinds of result, each with its own icon. The icon tells you where the suggestion comes from — and what happens when you pick it.
The three icons
- Place — a canonical equestrian venue from our curated dataset (40,000+ venues across Europe, North America, and Oceania, sourced from Foursquare). Picking a place links your video to that venue so search, filters, and the location heatmap line up across users.
- Address — a street address or neighbourhood we previously resolved from someone's GPS coordinates via OpenStreetMap. Use these when no curated venue matches — e.g. you train at a private yard that isn't in any directory.
- Custom — whatever you typed, kept as free text. Pick this when the venue genuinely has no name (a friend's field) or when you want a personal label like "Home arena". Custom locations are visible only in your own library.
Prefer Place when it matches
Linking to a curated place means your videos share a location with everyone else's videos at that venue — that's what makes "all my Lummen rounds" or "show me everyone's Sentower videos" work. If a Place result matches, pick it over the Address or Custom version of the same name.
GPS auto-fill still wins
If your video has GPS coordinates, we auto-resolve them to a Place (or, on a miss, an Address) on upload — the picker only appears when there's no GPS. See Tagging videos.
